Live By Living Day Hike: Red Rocks Park. Sunday, June 25

Join Ed Robb and Stephanie Lenkey Sunday, June 25, for a moderate hike at Red Rocks Park. We’ll do the Red Rocks/Morrision Slide trail loop, about 3.1 miles and 725′ elevation gain.   This will be a wonderful way to start the weekend and get in shape for a summer full of hiking! 

 

As always, Live By Living day hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers, men and women. Regardless of whether you are currently in or out of treatment, we’d love to have you join us. DAY/DATE OF HIKE: Sunday, June 25
MEETING TIME: 9am
RETURN TIME: 1pm
MEETING PLACE: Parking lot at intersection of west Alameda Parkway and Red Rocks Trail road. Use GPS for additional assistance.

DIRECTIONS TO MEETING PLACE: From I70, go south on CO 93, toward Morrison, to Red Rocks Park Entrance 1 (Alameda Parkway). Turn right and go about 1⁄2 mile to Red Rocks Trail Road. This also goes to the Box Office. There is a small parking lot at the intersection as well as parking along Red Rocks Trail Road.

DISTANCE: Approximately 3.1 miles
ELEVATION GAIN: Approximately 725′
HIGHEST POINT: 6828′

Dogs OK? Yes, but they must be on leash at all times. We would suggest you not bring your dog, though, as the trail can get narrow, and may have high foot traffic.

 

Be sure to bring:
Appropriate clothing for the weather.

Water

Trail snacks/lunch

Sunscreen/sunwear/lip balm/sunglasses

 

CANCELLATIONS: If you need to cancel at the last minute, please call or text Ed, (303)810-1718 by 7:30am the day of the hike. If we decide to cancel due to poor weather, we will call everyone who has signed up by 7:30am, so please provide a valid phone number where you can be reached..
