Live By Living Day Hike: Dinosaur Ridge. Saturday, February 9

Join us this Saturday afternoon, February 9, for a MODERATE 2.5 mile hike on Dinosaur Ridge, located just northeast of Morrison.  It’s not often you can go to a National Natural Landmark, a Colorado Natural Area, and a Point of Geologic Interest all at the same time, but you’ll do exactly that here.  Dinosaur Ridge is one of the most famous dinosaur fossil sites in the world, and for good reason.  You’ll see lots of dinosaur tracks, ancient seabeds, and more on this hike.  And once you are on top of the ridge, you’ll have fantastic 360 degree views up and down the Front Range, west to Red Rocks Park, and east to Green Mountain and downtown Denver.

.

IN LIGHT OF THE FORECAST FOR SNOW THIS WEEK, WE ARE HEDGING OUR BETS.  This hike starts off on a paved road that is closed to auto traffic, then turns into a VERY rocky, moderately steep trail that goes to the top of Dinosaur Ridge. If the trail is clear of snow and not too muddy, we’ll go up the ridge.  But if we think it’s too slippery, we will stay on the road. If we do go up the ridge, please note there is a steep dropoff on the west side of the ridge. IF YOU HAVE ACROPHOBIA OR DIFFICULTY WITH YOUR BALANCE, THIS HIKE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU.

.

As always, Live By Living day hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers, men and women.  Regardless of whether you are currently in or out of treatment, we’d love to have you join us.  If you’re uncertain whether you are physically up for a hike, please call us at 303-808-2339, and we can help you decide.
